Islamabad: 3 ‘abductors’ arrested
ISLAMABAD: Capital police have arrested three people, including a woman, on charge of holding three kids to ransom. According to a press statement issued on Friday, Muhammad Hussain, a city resident, filed an application with Sabzi Mandi police on October 26, saying that his brother Muhammad Hasnain (9) and cousins – Muhammad Haseeb (4) and Muhammad Sajid (7) – did not return home from playground. After few days, he said, unidentified people demanded Rs 40 million ransom for the kids’ safe release. Later, the police booked the accused and started investigation.
Senior Superintendent of Police Ahmad Latif directed the police to recover the kids alive and arrest the kidnappers. Afterwards, the police arrested Khushab residents – Zafar Iqbal and Saliha Bibi – and a Sargodha resident Muhammad Ashraf from the jurisdiction of Mela police station, Sargodha, and recovered the children unharmed from their custody.
