Karachi: DG MDA, others granted interim bail in NAB reference
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court granted interim bail to Director General Malir Development Authority (MDA) and three other officials in a corruption reference. DG MDA Ameerzada Kohati, M Siddique Majid, Saleh Bhutto and others are facing corruption reference pertaining to illegal allotment of land. According to NAB, during 2004 main accused Ch. Tanveer Ahmed, a builder, in connivance with other co-accused consolidated land for Garden City project whereas the land was acquired for Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme in 1976. NAB alleged that an additional 14-39 acres land was also consolidated which was not owned by Ch. Tanveer. SHC’s division bench granted interim bail against a surety of Rs.1 million each and issued notice to DP NAB for November 20.
