7 robberies in Pindi within 24 hours
RAWALPINDI: Robbers struck at seven different places in the city during the last 24 hours depriving the residents of valuables, police said on Tuesday. Masood Akhtar, a resident of Chakri Road, lodged a complaint with Saddar Barooni police stating that burglars broke into his house in his absence and took away Rs 2,50,000 in cash, gold ornaments and some other valuables. Amjad Khan, a resident of Pindora, complained to New Town police that burglars broke into his house and made off with Rs 10,000 in cash, prize bonds valuing Rs 70,000, gold jewelry and some other valuables.
Agha Imad Khan, a resident of Commercial Market, told Airport police that he and his friends were going somewhere in a car when three robbers riding a motorbike intercepted them and deprived them of two cell phones, Rs 18,000 in cash and credit and ATM cards at gunpoint.
Meanwhile, four persons were deprived of cars in the limits of different police stations.
Banaras Khan told Sadiqabad police that his car (IDN–3921) was stolen from the parking lot of Dubai Plaza, Saif Ali Shah complained to Civil Lines police that his car (KB–5795) was stolen from Kutchery Chowk, Mubashir Abbas’ car (LES-3431) was stolen from Dhoke Mangtal and Tariq Saleem told Cantonment police that his car (KK–983) was stolen from the parking of Shalimar Hotel. Separate cases have been registered and investigations started.
