Lahore: PML-Q ex-MNA granted bail
LAHORE: An Anti–Corruption Court on Thursday granted bail to former MNA of the Pakistan Muslim League–Quaid (PML–Q) Mian Muhammad Asif on personal surety of Rs.100,000. An Anti Corruption Establishment team had arrested Mian Asif, who won the 2002 general election from NA–121, from his Chauburji Park house. He was accused of transferring 110 kanal Lahore Development Authority land in his name through bogus documents when the Pakistan Muslim League–Quaid was in government. A case was registered against him on the complaint of Muhammad Shahbaz in 2007, but he was not arrested. The incumbent government reopened the case against him and he was arrested for ‘land fraud’.
