15 POs among 53 held in Kohat swoop
KOHAT: Police arrested 53 persons, including 15 proclaimed offenders and 18 suspects, in a fresh crackdown on anti–social elements, while arms and drugs worth million of rupees have also been confiscated during the raids on the hideouts of the alleged criminals. Raids were conducted on the special directives of District Police Officer Abdullah Khan. SP Operations Mohammad Arif, DSP City Ahsanullah and DSP Headquarter Lal Fareed led the raiding police parties.
The alleged hideouts of criminals located at Jangal Khel, Qamar Dahnd, Sher Kot, Nusrat Khel, Mohammad Zai, Ublan Camp, Gahmkol, Banda Mausam Khan, Shekhan, Bahawal Nagar and Dahal Behzadi were raided during the swoop.
The alleged proclaimed offenders nabbed during the crackdown included Ameenullah, Sabreen, Abdul Rahman, Saliheen, Toor Khan, Mushtaq, Mohammad Shareef, Jamshed, Kamran, Lal Khan, Gulistan, Fazal Rahman, Sultan, Shakir and Jahangir.
Police also claimed seizing 10 Kalashnikovs, 24 rifles, 20 pistols, a large number of cartridges, 9 kilograms of charas and 6 bottles of liquor from the possession of the criminals. Meanwhile, 35 motorcyclists were arrested for violating Section 144.
