Karachi: Street crime gang busted
KARACHI: The staff of North Nazimabad Town police busted three gangs of street criminals involved in looting houses, mini-buses, and pedestrians and recovered huge quantities of arms, looted property and snatched motorcycles. A police team conducted a raid and after a shoot-out arrested M Asif, Sher Zaman, Haider Ali, Abid Hussain, Imran Shamshad, Imran Rafi, and M Azeem and recovered seven TT pistols, a Suzuki pick–up, and instruments used in cutting the house grills from their possession.
In another raid, the police team of Pakistan Bazar on information regarding presence of motorcycle lifters near Kati Pahari conducted a raid and after a shoot-out arrested Arshad with a recovery of two TT pistols and two snatched motorcycles.
In yet another attempt, the North Nazimabad police during checking near Haidery Market, held two suspects busy looting a mini-bus and recovered arms from them. The accused were identified as Sharif Khan and M Rehman. The accused were wanted by the police in number of bus looting cases.
The Investigation staff of West Zone, North Nazimabad Investigation Police, solved a murder mystery regarding a man who was slaughtered a few month ago in the North Nazimabad police limits.
In September, the body of deceased Mohammed Arshad, 22, was found near the KDA Chowrangi. The Investigation staff started tracing the cell phone record of the deceased Arshad and found a number of Punjab in the name of one Mumtaz, alias Kaka, who is working at the same poultry shop in Paposh and presently the cell phone was in the use of Mrs Mumtaz. During probe, the police traced the accused Mumtaz who admitted to having murdered Arshad. The police has conducted a raid and recovered the murder weapon, a knife, and memory card of the deceased.
