Rawalpindi: Court issues arrest warrants for 6 police officials
RAWALPINDI: Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghulam Mehdi Khan on Monday issued arrest warrants of six police officials, including two sub–inspectors (SI), in three separate cases of narcotics. Police sources told Daily Times that the court was trying an alleged drug peddler Asad Abbas in a case registered with the Gangmandi Police. Since three police officials did not comply with the court orders by recording their statements in the case, the court issued their arrest warrants. The police officials have been identified as SI Bashir Ahmad, SI Ghulam Abbas and Assistant Sub–Inspector (ASI) Nadeem Zafar. The court directed them to appear before the court on November 24.
In another case registered with Warris Khan Police, arrest warrants of Moharar Zulfiqar Ali and Head Constable Muhammad Hussain were issued for not complying with court orders. The judge ordered them to appear before the court on November 25. In another narcotics case registered with the Banni Police, the court issued non–bailable arrest warrant of ASI Zafar Iqbal, directing him to appear before the court on November 19.
