Bannu: Outlaws held, arms and drugs recovered
BANNU: Police claimed to have arrested several proclaimed offenders and recovered deadly arms and ammunition during crackdown on the criminals in the area. Briefing the local journalists at his office Tuesday, the Regional Police Officer Masood Khan Afridi said the police were put on high alert and drive was launched to wipe miscreants out of Bannu and Lakki Marwat. The arms recovered during the crackdown included 244 Kalashnikov rifles, 71 Kalakov rifles, 464 guns, 831 pistols, 52 daggers, 36 hand grenades, three rocket launchers, five bombs, two missiles, 13 mortar shells and 4,000 cartridges. A huge quantitity of narcotics including 202 kilograms of hashish, 21 kilograms of opium, 20 kilograms of heroin and 132 bottles of wine was also recovered.
