Karachi: 7 held for cutting of roads
KARACHI: The Community Police (CP) of the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) caught three persons red-handed for illegally cutting a road near Johar Mor and handed them over to area police. A case was registered against them. Another van of CP during patrolling in Saudabad, held four persons for cutting roads without permission. The accused were handed over to area police. It may be noted that the City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal, had imposed an immediate ban on illegal cutting of roads and pavements.
He had also directed community policing and other concerned departments of the city government to take strict action against all such activities so that the newly-constructed roads and infrastructure that cost millions of rupees to city government could be saved from any damage.
The ban will be applicable to even those organisations or individuals who had earlier got the permission of road cutting and now they will also have to get fresh permission from the concerned authority.
