Lahore: ‘Head-hitter’ arrested, confesses to 34 murders
LAHORE: Sadr division investigation police have arrested a man who used to attack people with a club or a brick at night sleeping outside their houses or in under-construction buildings. The accused, identified as Muhammad Ameen alias Meena, used to hit three to four people with a club or a brick in one night to rob them of their valuables, said DIG Investigation Mushtaq Ahmad Sukehra while addressing a press conference at the Investigation Headquarters, Qila Gujar Singh, on Wednesday. The DIG said the accused had confessed to 75 crimes including 34 murders. After committing the crimes, he would flee to his native village, Shamasabad, in Kasur district.
Two stolen cell phones, Rs 5,000, a bicycle and a water pump were recovered from him. During the preliminary interrogation, he told police he was a vagabond. He has had also served seven years in prison in a similar case. He said he used to work as a labourer and a masseur in 1995 in Lahore and then started pickpocketing in the areas of Masti Gate, Data Darbar and Texali Gate.
