Islamabad: 4 gangs busted in capital
ISLAMABAD: The Shalimar Police Station Islamabad on Saturday claimed to have busted four inter-provincial gangs, arrested 14 members of the gangs and recovered stolen valuables worth millions of rupees from them. Addressing a press conference, Superintendent of Police (West Circle) Nasir Aftab said that he was assigned the task by SSP (Operations) Ahmed Latif to arrest the culprits involved in the street crime and other crimes of heinous nature.
Various teams supervised by the ASP Margallah Circle Farrukh Rasheed and Inspector Ghulam Muhammad Baqir were constituted, which succeeded to bust the four inter-provincial gangs comprising 14 outlaws.
As many as 31 mobile phones, cash amount Rs10,000, a motorbike having fake registration number IDM–1015, Suzuki Mehran Car, fake number plates and three 30 bore pistols were recovered from one gang.
he gang members were identified as ring leader Zahid Ali Shakri, Shehbaz, Shehzad Ali, Umar Farooq and Farhan Chaudhry.
It is to mention that this gang has allegedly killed Muhammad Abid during mobile snatching attempt in F-11 Markaz on September 22, 2008.
The mobiles phone of the deceased and other documents have been also recovered from the possession of these alleged criminals.
SP West Circle said that two computers, two monitors, two CPUs, power generator, eight televisions, DVD and 30 bore pistol were recovered from another gang, which they looted during dacoity at the house of Shabir Hussain.
The alleged criminals of this gang were identified as Zulfiqar Ahmed, Muhammad Ali, Nisar and Irfan Ullah. The SP West Circle said that two persons of another gang identified as Saeed and Ismail Shah residents of Islamabad were arrested in possession of a DVD, computer, two CPUs, one power generator and a motorcycle.
He said that two motorcycles, Suzuki Mehran car (ICT–MZ-707), Applied for Land Cruiser were also recovered from three nabbed auto–thieves identified as Fahd Shehzada, Fiaz Ahmed and Imran.
The SP on the occasion appreciated the efforts of teams members including SHO Inspector Ghulam Muhammad Baqir, ASIs Asjad Mehmud, Abdul Sattar, Shabbir Hussain, Zabi Ullah, Mukhtar Wago, Abdul Razzaq and others.
He also announced awards for the team members on behalf of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Asghar Raza Gardezi and SSP Ahmed Latif.
