Lahore: Crackdown on 104 criminals launched
LAHORE: The Lahore Police are set to launch a comprehensive crackdown against around 104 identified criminals including corrupt police officials involved in heinous crimes like dacoity, drugs pushing, land grabbing and running brothels to eliminate crime from the metropolis, The News has learnt. Sources in the Lahore Police told The News that 12 Superintendents (SPs) of the Operations and Investigation Wings of the Lahore Police had been assigned duties to nab the identified criminals from their respective areas. The lists of identified criminals have also been provided to the SPs for effective action. The identified criminals are involved in highway robberies, manufacturing spurious beverages, drugs pushing, gambling, dacoity, land grabbing, supply of prostitutes and running brothels. A number of police officers and officials including a DSP, a head constable, a sub–inspector and officials of the Factory Area Police are also involved in criminal activities and patronizing the goons in their respective areas.
The police have also identified Gogi Butt and Tepu Pehlwan involved in land grabbing and gambling respectively. Tepu Pehlwan is described as gangster in criminals list and said to be patronizing the criminals. UC–I Nazim Muhammad Khalid has also been allegedly supporting dacoits and robbers and gives them shelter after they commit dacoity bids.
According to the list available with The News, in Changa Manga area, two Dogar brothers and two Kakayzai brothers were on top of the list in looting buses, cars and motorcycles while hiding themselves in the blocks of the jungle.
The owner of Prime Tower Hotel situated opposite to the PTV Building in Qila Gujjar Singh police limits, is a DSP rank police officer. According to the police sources, the business of prostitution is on rise in Prime Tower Hotel for 24 hours. Muhammad Yaqub Dogar, Muhammad Ejaz alias Jajja Badsha, Ashraf alias Dhola, Khalid alias Khala are allegedly running a factory of spurious beverages in the limits of Batapur police station.
Shaheen, owner of Ejaz Ahmad Weapon Dealer, is involved in selling arms to the criminals without arms licenses. The Holiday Hotel in Moon Market Iqbal Town is running a business of prostitution while Rasheed alias Sheedi Baloch, resident of Doban Pura, Sabzazar area sells charas. Muhammad Saleem alias Cheema is a gambler in Syedpur while Bashri alias Kaki resident of Niaz Baig is a drug pusher. Muneer resident of Hunjerwal sells charas in its area to the youngsters. Javaid alias Jeda dai wala in Bazaar Hakeeman Sada Khord is identified as ringleader of gamblers and drugs pushers while Alau Din alias Lawa of Sandah Lahore runs a gambling den.
Waris Ali alais Wachi son of Muhammad Boota, resident of Burhan Pura Manga Road Raiwind is identified as criminal involved in heinous crimes. Saleem alias Cheema, son of Hashmat Ali, resident of Talab Sarai Manga Mundi and Nadeem, son of Saleem Rajput, resident of Pajian City Raiwind are identified as robbers. Muhammad Yasin Gujjar Group, Pathy Ground Dil Muhammad Road Naulakha police precincts sell charas in the area.
Babar Butt, son of Suhail Shaukat, resident of Lakho Der, Suhail Shaukat, son of Suhail Butt, Malik Shahid alias Bura of Batapur, Muhammad Jahangir, resident of Lakhoder and Muhammad Ashiq of Lakhoder are identified as ringleaders of land mafias. Majeed alais Majeeda, resident of Taaj Garh sells wine while Khalifa Naan Shop in Yakki Gate is famous in running a den of gamblers.
Perveen alias Peeno Butt in Tibbi City, Aasia Bibi in Tibbi City, Babar Kabaria in Tibbi City, Sharifan Kumhari in Daras Wali Street Green Town, Sharifan Bibi in Bilal Town Raiwind, Yousaf Masih alias Yousafa in Tajpura Road village and Anwar Khan on Bustami Road are running brothels in their respective areas.
Among the drugs pushers, the police have identified Khalida Bibi in Tibbi City, Sadique alias Malangi in Tibbi City, Yahya Nagar in Shadbagh, Shauqi Changar, former Nazim Township, Jammu Masih in Chung, Maqbool alias Koli Masih in Sattukatla, Azam, son of Latif in Sattukatla, Babar alias Babri Barber in Sattukatla, Noor Hussain of Rasool Pura village in Sattukatla, Mnasha Bodi of Bao Wala, Nazim Rehmani of Glaxo in Nishtar Colony, Bhutto Baloch of Doban Purain Sabzazar, Kalbe Abbas alias Raufi Androon Lohari Gate, Qaisar Abbas Androon Lohari Gate, Raza Abbas Alvi advocate in Lohari Gate, Ejaz alias Jajji in Lohari Gate, Pervaiz Peja Kasai and his brother Maqsood in Gawalmundi.
The identified gamblers are Bodi Gujjar in Syed Mitha Bazaar Tibbi City, Khalid Butt resident of Alamgir Road Islampura, Lucky in Millat Park, Shahzad alias Pappi in Wahdat Colony, Javaid alias Jedi in Sherakot, Mian Waheed is famous in gambling in Ghulam Plaza on Multan Road. He is owner of Grand bakery, Atta Muhammad Khan Pathan on Bund Road in Shafiqabad, Haji Khan Pathan on Bund Road Shafiqabad, Shahzad alias Majha in Kareem Park, Abdur Rasheed alias Sheeda Choorian Wala, Shafqat alais Jangi in Gawalmundi. Jangi’s brother is an advocate and he supports his brother, Palu in Gawalmundi, Saleem in Gawalmundi, Iftikhar alias Bhutto Baloch Jhugian Nagra, Maqbool alias Maqboola, a shopkeeper, resident of Chungi Gujjarpura, Rehmat, son of Ashiq, resident of Chungi Gujjarpura, Ilyas alias Ilyasu, resident of Chungi Gujjarpura.
Among the ringleaders of identified land mafias are Mansha Ghuman Group in Factory Area, Farast Ali, son Riasat Ali, resident of Phularwan Chungi Gujjarpura, Kashif alias Kashi, son of Mian Muhammad Arshad, resident of Nabi Colony Samanabad, Iftikhar Ahmad Gujjar, former Sub-inspector Green Town police station, Asim Qadeer, son of Azad Qadeer, resident of Gulshane Iqbal. Asim Qadeer is involved in 26 registered cases and grabs land in connivance with a woman. He is notorious in opening direct firing and used to file writs against police. Saleem alias Cheena, resident of Rung Mahal, Haji Hanif, former advisor of the ex-chief minister, and a resident of Lohari Gate, Gogi Butt and his brothers are also among the ringleaders of identified land mafias. Shahnaz Bibi, wife of Abdul Razzaq, a head constable, resident of Awan Market, Nishtar Colony is also a land mafia.
Among the identified criminals are Mian Sajid, son of Mian Muhammad Arshad, resident of Nabi Colony, Samanabad, Rashi Motors, Makho Jatti, involved in robbery incidents and famous in supply of prostitutes, resident of House No 6 street No 17 Klour Mills near Niazi Adda, Zulfiqar Ali alias Bhutto, son of Sardar Ali, resident of Nagra Road, Nawankot, Muhammad Khalid, UC–I Nazim, Ghulam Haider, alias Baba Haider, resident of Chauki Sabzi Mundi, Ravi Road, Mansha Ghuman and Raza Abbas Alvi Advocate Lohari Gate, a tout.
Bashir Ahmad, resident of Shahpur manufactures spurious beverages and Bashir Ahmad Maachi, runs an agency of fake beverages. Abdul Hameed Bhatti, resident of Colony Kachi Abadi in Wahdat Colony police precincts runs a business of bogus visas and passports. Ravi Inn, situated at 51/52-B Muslim Town runs a brothel and sells wines in hotel. Blue print movies are shown in Nagina Cinema near Naaz Theatre at nights.
Lahore Hotel, Allied Hotel, Decent Hotel and Al-Falah Hotel are dens of prostitution and call girls are also supplied from these points. In Lahore Hotel, there is an office of Al-Noor Developers, Jalal Corporation, involved in minting money in the name of giving plots.
The sale of fake soaps, shampoos, powders and creams is on rise in Bara Market and its adjacent markets in the limits of Mochi Gate police precincts. In Factory Area police station, police officials appointed for a long time are also patronizing criminals.
The persons who are involved in illegal business of fireworks are identified as Haider Aatish Baaz, Malik Yousaf, Zulfiqar alias Zulfi, Bhola Karachi Wala Aatish Baaz, Ashfaq Theepa Aatish Baaz and Saleem Aatish Baaz in the limits of Mochi Gate police station.
Tahiri is identified as a drugs pusher and in charge of gambling den in Tajpura with the title of Mansha Al-Faisal Town and a senior journalist is patronizing him. When contacted, Capital City Police Officer Pervaiz Rathore confirmed the list about the identified criminals, saying a comprehensive crackdown would be soon launched against such criminals. He added that he had provided the list of identified criminals to the divisional SPs for proper action.
The CCPO said if the SPs succeeded in nabbing the identified criminals, there would not be a single person to complaint against crime is there would be complete rule of law. He assured that strict action would also be taken against the corrupt police officials and officers.
