Lahore: Case ordered against ‘torturer’ of minor girls
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday ordered the Model Town Police (SHO) to register a case against an accused who had detained and tortured two minor girls. Anam and Sana were recovered from a Model Town house on Wednesday. While disposing of a habeas corpus petition filed by the girls’ uncle for their recovery, the judge observed that the torture and detention of the girls had been proven, adding that the SHO should register a case. Earlier, the counsel for Usman Sheikh, from whose house the girls were recovered, informed the court that an FIR had been registered against the girls and their parents for allegedly stealing Rs 1.5 million from the house. He said that his client had not detained the girls and they had been living in the house as their parents had abandoned them.
