Karachi: Murder FIR of ST activist lodged
KARACHI: The Saeedabad police lodged a case against a political group’s activists for murdering two activists of the Sunni Tehrik (ST) on Thursday evening. Interestingly, informed sources told The News that, after the FIR was registered, the police authorities suspended the SHO Saeedabad, Inayatullah Marwat. The Saeedabad police said that they had recorded the statement of Mohammed Sajid. He stated that he is the resident of Sector–C3, Saeedabad and is a worker of the ST, adding that, on November 20, Dr Orangzeb (the now deceased Mohtamim of ST) called him on telephone and told him to come to Sector–D3, Saeedabad at about 4 p.m. As per directions, he went to the place to meet him. When he reached the place, he saw that the accused persons Mohammed Yaqoob alias Kalia, Mohammed Aziz alias CIA, Zulfiqar Hussain alias Papoo Kanpuri and Sarwar alias Chacha loaded with heavy weapons were present at the place.
In the meantime, the above-mentioned persons opened fire upon the Hi-roof of Dr Orangzeb with pistols and Kalashnikovs with the intention to kill him. As a result, Dr Orangzeb, Mohammed Shahid and Mohammed Sajjad sustained bullet injuries, while the accused persons fled.
He, along with the other area people, immediately took the injured to the hospital, where Dr Orangzeb and Mohammed Sajjad succumbed to their injuries. The police has lodged an FIR against the above-nominated persons and referred the case to the investigation police.
Police sources said that the police authorities in reaction of the FIR suspended the Station House Officer, Inayatullah Marwat, and ordered departmental inquiry in this regard against him.
