Lahore: Man dies of axe wounds
LAHORE: A 23-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Friday, two days after he and his brother were badly injured with an axe by two unidentified people in the limits of Kot Lakhpat police station. The victim, identified as Haider Ali Khan, resident of Baba Farid Colony, was sleeping at his under construction house along with his brother on November 19, 2008 when the accused came and injured them with several strokes of an axe. As a result, his brother, Salar Khan, died on the spot while Haider Khan sustained serious head injuries. He was shifted to the Lahore General Hospital where he died yesterday.
On the issue, the investigation officer (IO) of this case, Talib Hussain, said that no breakthrough could be made yet to unveil the mystery behind the killing of two brothers. However, he contended that the deceased were drug addicts and they, according to locals, used to quarrel with each other daily. The victims’ mother was living in Shah Jamal while the two brothers were used to stay at their under construction house.
