Karachi: 2 suspects held in bank robbery case
KARACHI: Two suspects arrested by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Jamshed Town, are likely to be nominated in the Mauripur bank robbery case of Nov 4, sources said. Eight armed men had robbed Rs6 million from a branch of Muslim Commercial Bank in the Mauripur police limits and killed police constable Mukhtiar Hussain Mallah and security guard Shah Alam. The robbers had fled in two cars – a Suzuki Margala and Toyota Corolla – and the investigators obtained the video footages of the incident.
According the sources, the investigation staff of the SIU Jamshed Town have succeeded in getting some leads in the said robbery case and arrested two youngsters who are suspected to have been involved in the incident.
“The features of the suspects are reported to be matching with those caught on the video cameras of the bank,” the sources claimed. However, there was no word about the recovery of the looted cash as well as the weapons used in the bank robbery.
