Karachi: Alleged robber killed by victim
KARACHI: An alleged bandit was killed and another was injured by a car rider in a robbery bid in the Manghopir police limits on Sunday. Three armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted a car rider near Kawari Colony in the Manghopir police jurisdiction and demanded him to hand over cash and mobile phone at gunpoint. The car rider whipped out his pistol and opened fire injuring two of the three armed men, while their third accomplice fled. Later, the area police reached the spot and shifted them to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment, where one of the injured robbers, Sardar, succumbed to injuries.
The other robber was identified as Haroon, 20.
An armed man was killed and another injured in a police ‘encounter’ in the Soldier Bazaar area on Sunday.
Two armed men were roaming suspiciously on a motorcycle near Nishter Road in the Soldier Bazaar police jurisdiction, when a police a police party signalled them to stop.
The suspects opened fire instead which was retaliated. Both the suspect sustained injuries and police recovered two TT pistols and a snatched motorcycle from them.
The injured suspects identified as Fahad, 25, and Muhammad Ali, 26 were rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) where Fahad succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Police said that the deceased had snatched the motorcycle from the Sharea Faisal area on September 17.
