Rawalpindi: Girl kidnapped, houses looted
RAWALPINDI: The city on Sunday reported a girl’s kidnapping, two housebreakings and lifting of two vehicles. Musarat Shaheen complained to Sadiqabad Police that unidentified persons had kidnapped her 15–year–old daughter, Samreen Kosar, when she was on the way to her elder sister’s house in Shaheen Colony. Police began investigation after registering a case. Afzal, a resident of Chaklala’s Scheme III, reported to Airport Police that unidentified persons had broken into his house when he and his family were away. He said the burglars took away Rs 0.1 million cash, six tola gold ornaments and other valuables.
Shakeel of Shakrial also complained to Sadiqabad Police of housebreaking.
He said burglars made off with Rs 37,500 cash, two mobile phones, three wristwatches, a digital camera and important documents.
Naseerullah of Afshan Colony informed to Royal Artillery Police that two motorcyclists snatched his cellphone at gunpoint when he was walking outside his house.
Mehwish Ikram complained of the lifting of his car from Singapore Plaza’s parking lot and Falaq Baig of his motorbike from Sayam Road.
Police registered separate cases before beginning investigation.
Meanwhile, a short-circuiting gutted goods valuing millions of rupees an electronics’ shop in Ashraf Plaza on Iqbal Road, said Imran, who owns the shop, Olympia Corporation.
The Rescue 1122 and City Fire Brigade extinguished the fire, which erupted in the basement, after an effort of an hour.
