Karachi: Police save 2 bandits from mob fury
KARACHI: The police saved two bandits from the public who were going to burn them alive after beating them with sticks and iron rods in the Saudabad police limits. The bandits had killed a man during robbery. The residents of Malir, Saudabad said that it was in the afternoon when three armed robbers broke into the house of Zeeshan and were fleeing after committing the robbery. Zeeshan along with his neighbour Imran started chasing the robbers. Zeeshan started aerial firing with his licenced pistol to frighten the bandits. But the bandits fired straight at them due to which a single bullet hit Imran on the neck and he fell from the motorcycle. The public managed to catch two of the fleeing bandits.
Imran was shifted to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. The angry public brutally thrashed the bandits. Shopkeepers closed their shops in protest and joined the mob and started beating the bandits with iron rods and sticks.
In the meantime a man poured kerosene oil on the two bandits and was about to torch them when suddenly the police officials came to their rescue.
The Saudabad police said that the injured bandits were identified as Iqbal and Lateef and they had recovered two TT pistols and looted property. Accused Iqbal is the resident of Al–Falah while Lateef came from Khairpur and was residing with Iqbal and committing robberies in the Bin Qasim Town. A case was reported and investigation is underway.
