Karachi: Wanted criminals held by CID
KARACHI: The staff of the Crimes Investigation Department (CID), Sindh, has arrested two criminals wanted by the Karachi police in a number of murder, attempt to murder, bank dacoities and car lifting cases and recovered arms, vehicles including a vehicle of the Income Tax Department, and fake number plates from their custody. SSP Aslam Khan of the CID said that information was received that the wanted criminals were hiding in a house situated near Crown Cinema, Mauripur area. Acting on the information he along with his staff conducted a raid.
An encounter took place wherein after Mohammed Siddiq, alias Saeed, alias Khan, alias Major Shahid, who also was injured, and Arif Khan, were arrested. During their search police recovered two Kalashnikovs. Besides, a car AHX-416, a Photohar Jeep GP–3998 and many fake number plates used by the criminals were also seized.
SSP Khan said that, during verification it was discovered that both the recovered vehicles are the stolen property of Darakhshan police station, while the recovered Jeep belonged to the Commissioner, Income Tax. He added that, during their initial probe the accused were wanted by Gizri, Defence, Sir Syed, Bahadurabad, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Ferozeabad and Sharea Noor Jehan police limits, in cases of murder, attempt to murder, car lifting and bank robbery cases.
