Islamabad: Officials seize 372kgs of drugs in Peshawar
ISLAMABAD: Customs officials seized 372 kilogrammes of hashish and opium and took possession of a truck in which the drugs were being smuggled from Peshawar to Punjab, said a press statement issued on Wednesday. Officials of the Directorate General Intelligence and Investigation of the Federal Board of Revenue conducted the raid following a tip-off. The officials chased the truck after being unable to intercept it at a picket. It was found abandoned on the GT Road with the driver having escaped. The officials searched the truck and recovered 350kgs of foreign origin hashish and 22kgs of foreign origin opium.
