Karachi: Suspect sent on transit remand
KARACHI: The Judicial Magistrate (Malir) Manzoor Ahmed Siddiqui sent Mukhtar Ahmed Umrani, who was allegedly involved in the burying alive of five women, including three young girls, in Balochistan, on transit remand for two days. The Sohrab Goth police, who nabbed Mukhtar Ahmed Umrani on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, said that they were on routine patrol when they were informed that a suspect, nominated in the case of the gruesome murder of three girls who are said to have been buried alive in Balochistan, was present near Al–Asif bus stand.
Acting on the information, the police conducted a raid, and after facing some resistance, arrested Umrani, who had fled for Karachi from Balochistan after the incident.
It is worth noting that the Baba Kot police station of Naseerabad district had lodged an FIR (9/08), under sections 302, 202, 147, 148, 149 102/20 against him.
