Karachi: Transit remand of Imrani ordered
KARACHI: Judicial Magistrate and Sessions Judge Malir on Wednesday granted transit remand of accused Mukhtar Imrani, allegedly involved for burying three women alive in Naseerabad district Balochistan a couple of months ago, till tomorrow (28th of November). Police had produced the criminal in the court of Justice Mansoor Ahmed Siddiqui. Imrani is said to be the main culprit behind the heinous crime of burying ill–fated Farida, Izzat Khatoon and Jannat Bibi alive on 14th July 2008 in district Naseerabad of the Balochistan province. He was arrested from the Sohrab Goth bus stop on Tuesday while trying to leave the city for Larkana after staying a few days here with a friend in Nazimabad.
Police have registered a case against him under sections 147, 148, 149, and 302.
According to the prosecution, accused Imrani along with his other accomplices had shot injured the above-mentioned women and then buried them alive.
In another court, Magistrate of District and Sessions Court (Central) Zaheeruddin Lagai adjourned the hearing of Justice Nizam murder case till 20th of December due to the absence of the lawyer.
It will be worth mentioning here that President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilal Sheikh have been acquitted in Justice Nizam murder case as no evidence could be provided against their involvement in it. However, Akhtar Javed Pirzada and Babar Sindhu are still nominated in this case.
The prosecution had submitted before the court that Justice Nizam and his son were travelling in a car when it was ambushed in front of their PECHS residence. Group Captain (retd) Sikandar, brother-in-law of Justice Nizam, had lodged the murder case with Ferozabad Police Station. Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge (West), Noman Memon, has awarded three years imprisonment to accused Rizwan over his involvement in street crimes.
The court has imposed a fine of Rs 1,000/- on the culprits and in case of non-payment he would have to spend another ten days behind the bars.
According to the prosecution, accused Rizwan, along with his accomplices, had snatched ornaments and cash from a citizen Jan Ghaffar at gunpoint within the jurisdiction of Saeedabad Police Station. Later, police had recovered the looted valuables from his possession.
