Karachi: Kidnapper gets life term
KARACHI: An anti–terrorism court (ATC) on Friday sentenced a man to life term after having found him guilty of kidnapping a boy for ransom. Mohammad Ali was prosecuted for kidnapping Ali Zuhair from the Ferozabad area in June. The prosecution alleged that the kidnapper demanded Rs15 million for his release, however, police arrested him and recovered the boy from his custody. Special Public Prosecutor Taseer Khan placed seven witnesses to prove the guilt of the accused. The ATC headed by Abdul Ghafoor Memon observed that the prosecution proved its case. The court also sentenced the kidnapper to seven years in prison for possessing illegal weapon and directed attachment of his moveable and immovable property to the state.
