Islamabad: 10 taken into custody in capital
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police arrested 10 persons involved in street crimes, drug dealing and bootlegging here on Wednesday, police said. Police recovered 2 kilograms of opium, 87 bottles of liquor, two pistols and stolen valuables from the accused. The Sabzi Mandi Police foiled a liquor smuggling bid and arrested three men — Sarwar Masih, Anwar Masih and Javed. DSP (Industrial Area Circle) Zubair Sheikh and Sabzi Mandi SHO Inspector Zawar Hussain, with a team, conducted a raid on the Al-Jalal Bus-Stand and arrested the three men after recovery of 61 bottles of liquor.
The Tarnol Police arrested two drug and firearms smugglers, including a woman, and recovered two kilograms of opium and illegal weapons from them. SHO (Tarnol) Inspector Fida Hussain Satti, on a tip-off, conducted a raid and apprehended the accused identified as Zaria Jan and Saad Rehman.
The Margalla Police arrested Nisar Masih and Sajid Masih after recovery of 26 bottles of liquor from their possession.
The Golra Police apprehended Amjad and recovered stolen valuables from him. The Shahzad Town Police took Abdul Ghaffar into custody on the charges of selling fake gold ornaments to residents of the area.
