Lahore: Case registered against lawyer, son
LAHORE: The Faisalabad district police officer (DPO) on Wednesday informed the Lahore High Court that a case had been registered against a lawyer and his son for obstructing the process of law by refusing to hand over custody of a minor girl to her mother. Appearing before the court of Justice Khalil Ahmad, the DPO also presented the FIR and assured the court that the minor would be recovered and produced on Friday. City Jaranwala SHO was also present in the court. Justice Khalil Ahmad on Tuesday had ordered the police to register a case against lawyer Ajmal Khan Kakar and his son Gulraiz if they did not hand over the minor to a court bailiff.
The court had passed this order on a petition by Humaira Gulnar, a resident of Daska, who sought the custody of her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter from her husband, Gulraiz Khan.
The petitioner stated that her husband kicked her out of the house and refused to give her daughter. On court order, a bailiff visited the residence of Gulraiz Khan and showed his father, Mohammad Ajmal Khan Kakar, the court order for the custody of the girl. The bailiff informed the court that Kakar, a lawyer by profession, refused to obey court order and sent him back without the minor girl.
