Karachi: Customs staff foils 2 smuggling bids
KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs foiled two attempts of smuggling at the Jinnah International Airport on Thursday. A Pilipino national, Dorothy Casareno, leaving for Ho Chi Minh City via Singapore by Singapore Airline on flight SQ–460, was arrested by the customs drug enforcement staff and recovered 1.5 kilogrammes of heroin from her. The drug was concealed inside six ladies suits. In another attempt, the customs staff recovered pound 2.10810 from a passenger, Muhammad Sadiq, who was leaving for London by UAE Air EK–603. The currency was seized and the passenger was released on personal bond, said Qamar Thalho, Chief Media Officer, Customs.
