Karachi: Kalia, Khanani on remand till 17th
KARACHI: The Special Court of banking on Wednesday ordered to send the accused Munaf Kalia and Javed Khanani to jail for the judicial remand till December 17. The hearing regarding the case was conducted before the special court of Parkash Lal where both the accused were appeared by the FIA. Both accused have been sent to the judicial custody, while the court has also directed the law forcers to appear the third accused Hanfi Kalia to be held on the 17th of December. It is worthy of mention that Hanif Kalia has already been handed over to the FIA for the physical remand till December 6.
The court has directed to the FIA to appear before the court in the next hearing with the records regarding the case. The lawyer on the part of the accused also submitted two pleas in which, it was requested to provide the accused with medical and academic facilities. The FIA authority has submitted the challan before the court.
The directors of Kanani and Kalia International (KKI) group have allegedly involved for transferring abroad over Rs38 billion worth of foreign currencies.
