Lahore: ‘Explosives’ recovered from Alhamra
LAHORE: Police allegedly recovered explosives wrapped in two separate packets from Alhamra Theatre on the Mall late on Sunday. According to police sources, the theatre’s security officials saw two packets gift-wrapped in the theatre’s Burny Park. They informed the police and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS). BDS officials seized the two packets and diffused the explosives. Sources said the BDS officials claimed the devices were of low intensity and looked similar to the one used in the attacks in Garhi Shaho and Alhamra Cultural Complex. However, Civil Lines Acting Superintendent of Police Haider Ashraf denied the recovery of any explosives, saying the bags were filled with sand.
