Karachi: Indian man, woman arrested over illegal stay
KARACHI: An Indian man and woman were on Thursday detained for staying illegally in Pakistan after their visas had expired. In charge, Foreign Prosecution Section, SHO Arif Khan informed Daily Times that the two Indians, Shamsa Noor Ali and Abdul Majeed hail from Indian cities of Junagarh and Ranchi respectively. He said that both accused arrived in the country on a 30–day visa and ended up staying after visas could not be extended. Both the accused had been residing at their respective relatives’ house. SHO Khan said that on August 8, police called both Indian nationals and produced them before the court, which ordered imprisoning them. The police have registered a case against Indian nationals under the Foreign Act.
