Karachi: Customs staff recover 2 kilogrammes of heroin
KARACHI: The Customs staff on Friday recovered two kilogrammes of heroin powder from a UK–bound export consignment at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi. The operation was carried out by the staff of the Drug Enforcement Cell posted at the Export Cargo Complex, Air Freight Unit of the Jinnah International Airport. The contraband item was concealed in air filling nozzles inside the bladders of 67 footballs. The footballs were part of a courier consignment for the UK, booked by a man identified as Sarfraz Ahmed from Gujranwala. The Customs staffs have registered an FIR and further investigation is under way.
A spokesman for the Customs said that the recovered quantity of contraband was ostensibly of superior quality.
