Karachi: Murder case
KARACHI: A statement of 77–year old Abdul Latif was recorded in the additional and district court Central in a double murder case and the case was adjourned to January 5. Abdul Latif, who was living with his son-in-law, murdered two people, Waris Hussain, brother, and the uncle of his son-in-law, Faran, over a petty issue. According to brief facts of the case, Abdul Latif after an altercation killed both Waris and Farhan with a sharp–edged knife. Both were taken to Abbasi Shaheed hospital critically injured, where both succumbed to their wounds.
The incident took place on September 17, 2000. The accused was 70 at that time. The FIR (No. 177/2000) was registered under Section 302 at the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station.
About eight members of the investigating team recorded their statements in the court. Witnesses are, Investigation Officer Mehmood Akhter, Sub–Inspector Sajid, SI Arif, SI Ghulam Mustafa, police constable M Sarfaraz, Medico–Legal Officer Dr Zafar Shah, two neighbours, Naseer Ahmed and Altaf, eyewitness Mohammed Younus and daughter of the accused Sakina.
