Lahore: CIA officials arrested for taking bribe
LAHORE: CIA SP Muhammad Umer Virk on Wednesday got registered a case against five CIA officials and got them arrested on the charges of taking bribe at gunpoint from a citizen. Reportedly, one Muhammad Kashif, a resident of district Sheikhupura, submitted an application to the CIA SP against constables Javed Ahmed, Rana Ayub, Amjad, Saleem and one unidentified official of the Lorry Adda Police Station. Kashif, who had a business of artificial jewelry, submitted that he was coming to Lahore along with his relatives a month back when the said police constables stopped him and his relative near the Saggian Bridge. He said the officials, four of whom were in plain clothes, searched his car and found artificial jewelry.
He said the CIA officials falsely accused him to be involved in fake jewelry business and took him and his relatives to Darbar Haydar Sain in the Lorry Adda area.
Later, the CIA officials took Rs32,000, a wrist watch and clothes at gunpoint from them and released them. On his application, the SP CIA initiated an inquiry and found all the five officials guilty.
