Karachi: Gang of industrial robbers busted
KARACHI: The investigation staff of West Zone-I claimed to have busted a network of robbers operating in SITE. Six suspects were rounded up, and arms and a huge quantity of looted items, including cards of loom machines, were recovered. SSP Investigation (West) Khurram Waris said that his staff received a tip about a gang of industrial robbers was present in SITE and that they were planning to rob some factory. Consequently, a party led by Inspector Naeem conducted a raid and after a brief encounter, rounded up six suspects, identified as Mairaj, Latif, Asadullah, Ata Tahir, Khurram and Ataullah. Four pistols were also recovered. On their disclosure, the police also recovered looted items; include two cards of loom machines. The suspects had been on bail and were involved in a number of industrial robberies.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Bazaar police arrested a suspect who was allegedly involved in recent ethnic violence in the city, as well as an attempt-to-murder case. Looted items were recovered from him. The suspect was identified as Mohammed Hafeez alias Babu. He was wanted in an attempt–to–murder case because he had injured a man called Javed Hussain in the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Bazaar police station.
He was also said to have robbed swig machines and generators during three days of ethnic violence in Karachi.
Moreover, the Pakistan Bazar police also arrested a man called Mujhaid and recovered a pistol and looted cellphones from him, while another man called Mohammed Ali alias Ali was arrested with US currency.
