Karachi: 3 arrested; arms, motorcycles seized
KARACHI: The staff of provincial Crime Investigation Department (CID) have claimed to have busted a network of motorcycle lifters from Mauripur and recovered arms and 10 motorcycles from their possession. On a tip-off, the police raided a locality in Macher Colony, Mauripur. After a brief encounter, they arrested Mohammed Zer Khan, the ring leader, Mohammed Mustafa and Zafarullah and recovered two TT pistols and 10 motorcycles from their possession.
During interrogation, the suspects disclosed that they had snatched these motorcycles from Boat Basin, Artillery Maidan, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Rizvia and other areas of the city. They revealed that they used to dismantle the bikes, pack them in gunny bags and dispose of the same in Balochistan to their buyers.
They further disclosed that they were obtaining Rs30,000 to 35,000 per motorcycle and till now they had lifted more than 100 motorcycles from the city. Further probe was underway.
