Rawalpindi: Rs104.642m embezzlement in RCDG unearthed
RAWALPINDI: The Auditor General of Pakistan has unearthed a massive fraudulent expenditure, misappropriation, embezzlement and financial corruption of over Rs104.642 million in Rawalpindi City District Government (RCDG) during years 2005-2008. Corruption and financial irregularities worth of Rs217.078 million were also unearthed in Attock City District Government, Rs32.727 million in Jhelum City District Government and Rs102.018 in Chakwal City District Government during 2005–2008. The report was sent to Punjab government through Governor Salman Taseer.
The functionaries of the Punjab government told Online that the responsible nazims and other grabbers are opting for unlawful means to avoid the punishment and legal action. The nazims are making a lot of hue and cry to conceal their fraud, however, Punjab government will not succumb to the pressure, they added.
