Lahore: 1 dead after marriage proposal rejected
LAHORE: A youth was shot dead while four others were injured in Green Town on Tuesday, when six people opened fire after refusal of a marriage proposal. The deceased was identified as Tanveer Ahmad (16) son of Khalil. The injured were identified as Saghir (26) and Naseer (21), who were Tanveer’s brothers. The accused was identified as Irfan along with accomplices. Police said Muhammad Amjad ran a cell phone shop at Hall Road and hired Tanveer as the salesman. Amjad accused Tanveer of stealing cell phones from his shop but elders intervened and resolved the issue. Meanwhile, Amjad’s brother Irfan proposed Tanveer’s family for his sister’s marriage but Tanveer rejected the proposal.
On the day of the incident, Irfan exchanged hot words with Tanveer and opened fire at him. Tanveer died while his brothers Saghir and Naseer suffered injuries. Noor Muhammad and Muhammad Amjad were also injured during the firing. Police registered a case against Irfan and sent the body for autopsy.
