Lahore: Girl abducted from Minar-e-Pakistan, raped by 4
LAHORE: An 18-year-old girl was raped by four people near Tibbi City Police Station on Tuesday. The victim was identified as, a resident of Sargodha. She was forcibly taken by Wazeer Ali and Shahzad from a bus stop near Minar-e–Pakistan to Tibbi City Area, where four men raped her and fled, the police reported. Tibbi City Police registered a case on the complaint of the victim. A man was beaten to death by a group of five near Ichhara Police Station on Tuesday. The victim was identified as Manzoor, resident of Pir Ghazi Road, Ichhara. Police said Waheed Butt and his three accomplices manhandled Manzoor for raising an objection over a pole erected in front of his house. Manzoor was later taken to a local hospital where he expired later. Ichhara Police has registered the case and sent the body to city morgue for autopsy.
A 40-year-old man was suffocated to death after wood was set ablaze in a tent storage house on Tuesday. The incident took place at Qadri Chowk in Green Town.
The deceased was identified as Sabar, a resident of Shirakot. Police said that the victim set wooden logs on fire to heat the room and fell asleep.
Fire broke out at two different places in the city on Tuesday, reducing goods worth thousands of rupees to ashes. A barber shop was set to fire in Mustafabad Area, where furniture worth thousands was damaged. Simultaneously, another incident took place at a house in Moochipura. Both places were set to fire due to short-circuiting.
