Karachi: Millions announced in head money on Lyari gangsters
KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced millions in head money on the arrest 31 criminals and appealed to the people to provide information about these criminals to their respective police stations. The reward money was fixed by the law–enforcement agencies and the government promised that the identity of those who provide information would be kept secret. According to an official announcement, Rs 5 million each was fixed as reward money for Abdul Jabbar alias Langra son of Muhammad Siddique; Arif Zikri son of Essa Zikri; and Abdul Qadir alias Shambay son of Muhammad Siddique. Rupees 3 million each for Raheem alias Darinda Gabol, Tahir alias Lumba, Nazir alias Balla, Mullah Lateef, Shazad alias Gabbar, Saeed alias Kajal, Shazad alias Faizoo, Abdul Jabbar alias Dada, Shoaib alias Doctor, Irfan alias Balla, and Shazad Zikri. Rupees 2 million for Ejaz Kichoo, Ajmad Lashari, Ramzan alias Ramzani Kecchi, Zahid alias Lashari, Maula Bakhsh alias Doli/Arbab, and Shiraz Zikri.
Rupees 1 million each for Aqeel, Abdul Ghaffar, Arif alias Mudha, Shah Jehan alias Jehanzeb; Shahzeb, Asif alias Asifa, Shakir, Zafara alias Pappo, Abdul Hameed alias Kana, Mullah Nawaz, Shazad, and Anwar alias Kachi.
All the criminals belong to members of the drug mafia and are central figures in the gang war in Lyari. The head money was announced after the visit of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah who held a public Katchery last week where people demanded action against criminal elements in the area.
However, some of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders demanded amnesty for these criminals and said that most of them belonged to political parties and should be given a chance to lead a normal life.
