Lahore: Police arrest 2 alleged car thieves
LAHORE: Defence Investigation Police have arrested two alleged members of a gang of car thieves and seized a vehicle from them, Daily Times learnt on Thursday. According to a press release, the police raiding team collected particulars of the gang and arrested two members. The members used fake identity cards to secure jobs as drivers in houses, to steal cars. The criminals confessed responsibility for nine incidents of car theft, the press release said. They committed crimes in Defence, Ghalib market and Iqbal Town, it said.
The arrested men were identified as ringleader Mumtaz alias Arshad alias Riaz and Muhammad Hanif alias Ashraf. Investigation is in progress. Capital City Police Officer Pervez Rathore announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding team.
