Karachi: CID arrests 2 robbers
KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) Sindh has arrested two bandits involved in murder and recovered arms and stolen items from them. SSP Aslam Khan of the CID said that on a tip-off, the staff of the CID raided a hideout in Khayaban-e-Shujahat, DHA, and after a brief encounter, arrested Fahimuddin and Rizwanuddin and recovered two TT pistols and a motorcycle. The latter was listed as stolen property at the Brigade police station. During the investigation it was revealed that the accused were involved in more than 50 cases of robbery besides murder cases, attempt to murder and police encounters.
The accused confessed to have killed police constable Zulfiqar of the Frere police station on July 21, 2008, when he resisted a robbery. The accused also confessed to have shot at and injured police constable Irshad during another robbery. They also confessed to have murdered several innocent citizens during various robberies. Further probe is under way.
