Pindi police recover 2 kidnapped persons
RAWALPINDI: The police have recovered two persons, including a four-year-old baby girl, kidnapped in different incidents from Rawalpindi for ransom and arrested two captors, City Police Officer (CPO), Rawalpindi, Rao Muhammad Iqbal, said while addressing a press conference on Saturday. The CPO said that the Sadiqabad police took up the case on the complaint of Amjad Yousaf, a resident of Church Wali Gali, Dhok Kala Khan, who told the police that his four-year-old daughter, Merab Amjad, went to play in the street on December 31, 2008 but suddenly disappeared.
He said that his brother received a telephone call on his mobile phone from the captors who informed him that his neice was with them and demanded half-a-million rupees for her safe release.
Rao Iqbal said that he constituted a team for tracking the gangsters and got a clue after detaining a suspect who disclosed that Haroon Masih and Imran Masih had kidnapped the baby girl and took her to a hideout in Jhanda Chichi. The police conducted a raid and recovered the baby, arresting both the suspects.
The police also got recovered Safdar Hussain from Mardan. He was kidnapped from Khayaban-i-Jinnah, Adiala Road, on December 12, 2008 for ransom.
