Karachi: Gang of tankers snatchers busted
KARACHI: Police busted a racket of tankers’ snatchers here in the limits of Memon Goth police station. According to details, some unknown culprits snatched a dumper near Toll Plaza and also tortured the driver and cleaner of the truck. Resultantly, a large number of drivers and cleaners gathered at the Toll Plaza and staged protest against the worst law and order situation. Enrage mob erected the barricades on Super Highway and blocked the road for more than four hours. On the other side police have been trying to locate the missing dumper with the help of a Tracker Company.
Finally, law enforcers reached Luqmani Farm House when the Tracker Company traced the location. Police raided the farm house and found five other snatched dumpers and also arrested three accused including Karovar Karoo, Ghulam Rasool and Sandur Khair, a cop deployed at Khokhrapar police station.
Initial investigation revealed that recovered trucks including an oil tanker had been snatched form different areas of the City including Surjani Town, Gidap City and Memon Goth.
Police have also been looking for remaining culprits involved in such sort of highway robberies and snatching of oil tankers. Culprits have also confessed that they used to make calls to the owners of the snatched trucks. They demanded money against the snatched trucks and also posed that they were calling from NWFP. The FIR of the case yet to be registered.
Meanwhile, SHO Mangopir, Gayyur Akhter arrested a culprit involved in several cases of street crime after an encounter at Northern Bypass. During routine snap checking culprits tried to escape when police signalled them to stop. Police chased them and arrested Muhammad Ali and recovered a 9mm pistol and snatched motorbike while his accomplice had managed to escape.
Whereas, Sohrab Goth police arrested four culprits involved in Highway robberies and other sort of criminal activities after a brief encounter at Super Highway and recovered four TT pistols. Police have registered an FIR against Azizullah Khan, Fateh Muhammad and Habib-ur-Rehman and claimed that culprits used to robbed inter-city buses and goods transporters.
