Rawalpindi: 10 police officers issued arrest warrants for flouting court orders
RAWALPINDI: Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghulam Mehdi Khan on Monday issued non–bailable arrest warrants of 10 police officials for not complying with the court orders in two separate cases of narcotics. The court is trying alleged drug trafficker Abdul Latif and his accomplices to determine their alleged involvement in a narcotics case registered with Waris Khan Police Station. On the last hearing of the case, the court summoned seven police officials including sub–inspectors Manzoor Ahmed, Sher Ahmed, Muhammad Yousaf and constables Badar Munir, Javed Iqbal and Zulfiqar Ahmad to record their statements as prosecution witnesses. They all did not turn up as per the court directions. Resultantly, the court issued their non–bailable arrest warrants and directed them to appear before it on January 14.
Separately, the court issued non–bailable arrest warrants of three officials of Airport Police Station for not complying with its orders to record their statements as prosecution witnesses in a narcotics case.
The court is trying Muhammad Naveed to ascertain his alleged involvement in a narcotics case and summoned constables Kamran Khan, Akhtar Mehmood and Ali Bin Sad. But they did not appear as per the court orders. Upon this, the court issued their non–bailable arrest warrants and directed them to appear before it on January 14.
