Peshawar: 2 kidnapped, 7 robbed
PESHAWAR: Two persons including a kid were kidnapped while seven were robbed in the capital city Tuesday. A six-year-old boy, Javed, was kidnapped by unidentified people from outside his house, in the jurisdiction of Paharipura Police Station. The family of the taxi driver, Zulfiqar, who went missing two days back, also received a telephone call from unknown criminals, demanding Rs500,000 as ransom for the release of the driver and return of his vehicle.
An army officer, Lieutenant Ahmad Farhan, was deprived of his motorbike (9403) on The Mall, in the jurisdiction of Gulburg Police Station. Murad Ali, a resident of Yakatoot, was also deprived of his motorbike, cash and valuables on Ring Road near Jameel Chowk while armed men snatched motorcar from Mohammad Azfar in Mian Gujjar.
Highway robbers looted a villager Zulfiqar at gunpoint in Mathra and escaped with Rs14,000 as well as cellular phone. Ishtiaq, another villager, was deprived of his car, valuables and cellular phone on Ring Road, Pishtakhara, while Arsala Khan was deprived of bike in Faqirabad.
Eight armed men broke into the house of one Saleh Mohammad in Mashogagar village, in Peshawar suburbs and after making the inmates hostage at gunpoint took six buffaloes and four cows.
