Islamabad: CIA arrests 5 dacoits
ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has arrested five members of two rackets involved in dacoities, robberies, burglaries and other offences of street crimes and recovered gold ornaments, mobile phone sets and other valuables worth million of rupees from them, said SSP Islamabad, Captain (r) Ahmad Latif. Addressing a press conference held in CIA Centre Wednesday, he said that gangsters belonging to Lahore were active in Islamabad and they had plundered ten houses and looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth millions of rupees from them.
SP (Investigation) Sajid Kayani was also present on the occasion. The SSP Islamabad said that taking action on increasing incidents of street crimes, the cases were shifted to CIA and DSP Bashir Noon, Incharge of CIA was asked to investigate the cases and arrest the gangster.
The SSP said that the CIA busted two gangs in a short span of time and recovered booty including a car worth million of rupees from them. He said that two dacoits among the five members of the gang were arrested and identified as Imran Qadir and Muhammad Rafique while others — Tanvir alias Pappoo, Usman Ghani and Muhammad Ashraf alias Achoo — were being hunted.
Ahmad Latif said that the CIA, busted another racket of street criminals arrested three criminals and recovered huge quantity of gold ornaments, electronics valuables and mobile phone sets worth million of rupees from them.
The SSP appreciated the efficiency of CIA head Bashir Noon and other members of the team and awarded appreciation certificates and cash rewards to them for their outstanding performance.
