2 Taliban commanders held in Landikotal
LANDIKOTAL: The political administration has arrested local Taliban commanders Murad Shinwari and Tariq, and sent them to Peshawar Central Jail, according to a Landikotal jail prisoner. Taliban commander Murad Shinwari was wanted by the authorities in several cases, said an official. Landikotal Assistant Political Agent Azam Jan Khalil said a curfew had not been imposed in the area. He said that houses of Taliban who surrendered would not be demolished.
The security forces on Thursday demolished the house of an Afghan national, Rehmanullah, for his allegedly involvement in militancy. Also, an eight-member jirga’s guarantors were also shifted to Jamrud jail for failing to surrender Maulana Hazrat Nabi and Hazrat Ali – who are involved in militancy in the area.
