Karachi: Gang of robbers busted
KARACHI: The Investigation West Zone police have busted a gang wanted by the police for a number of robberies. Arms and looted items were also recovered from them. SSP Khurram Waris of Investigation West Zone said that during the investigation of armed robbery cases it was discovered that a gang, under the command of a man called Junaid, was active in the city, especially in areas of District Central.
The target was assigned to Inspector Ashraf Gujjar and others. During the search for the group, officers were tipped off that the bandits were present in Block-5, Aisha Manzil, at the 4J bus stop.
As soon as the police team reached the place, the bandits on seeing the police opened fire, which was retaliated by the police and after a brief encounter Junaid alias Bacha, Kashif alias Raju alias Makoraa, and Bihar alias Asif were arrested. Three TT pistols, looted items, heroin and hashish were recovered from them.
During investigation, the accused disclosed that they were active in the city from the year 2002 and during the period an encounter was reported in the Model Colony police limits in which their accomplice Nooru was killed by the police.
Moreover, Bihar also killed a police constable and was arrested by the Ferozeabad, Tipu Sultan, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and other police stations in a number of armed robbery cases. Further investigation is under way.
