Karachi: Suspect killed in Orangi
KARACHI: A 30–year–old suspected dacoit was killed and his younger brother arrested in what the police claimed was a shoot–out in Orangi Town on Sunday. The Mominabad police said that two policemen were patrolling the locality on their motorcycle when at around 7.30am they spotted three suspects sitting near Bijli Nagar. They said that the suspects opened fire as they saw the policemen approaching.
The police said that the policemen also returned fire and one of the suspects was killed in the shoot–out. They said the policemen arrested one of the suspects, while the third accomplice managed to flee under the cover of fire.
The killed suspect was identified as Adam Khan, son of Muhabbat Khan, and his arrested brother as Akbar Khan.
The absconding accomplice was identified as Tameen Khan. The police said that two TT pistols were recovered from the suspects, who were residents of Bismillah Colony, a shanty–town in Orangi. The suspects hailed from Swat.
