Islamabad: NH&MP recover 3 cars
ISLAMABAD: The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) have recovered one snatched and two stolen vehicles and handed them over to their owners, a spokesman of NH&MP said. Motorway Police was informed by Muridkey Police that a white Toyota Corolla XLI (LEJ–4923) was stolen and a Toyota Corolla (LV–517) was snatched on gunpoint from link road near Aziz Industry Muridkey. On receiving the information, the patrolling officers of the NH&MP singled a white Corolla car to stop on lane violations on M-2 near Sukhekhi, but the driver instead of stopping the car sped away.
However, on chase by the Motorway Police, the culprits left the car and escaped, taking cover of the darkness of night. The Motorway Police officers impounded the vehicle and informed the local police about the culprits. Similarly the second car, Toyota Corolla (LV-517), was also found parked on GT Road near Kamonki. Motorway Police took the car into its custody and informed the local police.
Meanwhile, a man, Sajid, informed Motorway Police that a person booked his Alto VXR No (LZC 3366) from Muridkey to Tanki Mohalla, but on reaching, Tanki Mohalla, he intoxicated him and fled with the car. However, the NH&MP found the car parked on GT Road near Kamonki. Later on, all the recovered vehicles were handed over to local police for further legal action.
